old fort Jackson: content optimization

Coastal heritage society: old fort Jackson

We partnered with Coastal Heritage Society’s Old Fort Jackson to conduct a social media audit, analyze engagement and competitors, and develop a tailored strategy to boost their digital presence. Our data-driven approach included platform selection, tone of voice, distribution tactics, and an evergreen content calendar. We also created sample content to showcase how Old Fort Jackson could effectively engage its audience and enhance its online presence.

Facebook weekly schedule post

To enhance engagement and streamline responses, we recommended a weekly pinned Facebook post with cannon firing times, reducing inquiries (50% of messages) and improving the 33.3% response rate. The schedule also works to highlight special events, increasing awareness. A daily story update could further inform followers about daily activities.

Facebook fun fact story

Due to limited resources, we recommended posting fun fact stories as an easy way to keep Old Fort Jackson’s account active without daily posts. We let them know that iIf including a link , they should post in real-time, as scheduled stories require 10K+ followers to use links.

Caption: Did you know that before the age of smartphones and instant message, there was a method of long-distance communication called Aerial Telegraphy, more commonly known as wigwag? Wigwag was a historical form of flag signaling, where messages were conveyed by waving a single flag. This system allowed messages to be read over vast distances, even at night using torches. The most common code used in wigwag involved waving the flag to the left and right, known as the “wigwagging”motion. Each character was formed by displaying a sequence of motions, similar to Morse Code. From reporting battlefield movements to maintaining communication between ships and land forces, wigwag was instrumental in military operations during the American Civil War. Should we go back to this instead of iPhones?
